Personal Leadership Brand Strategist

“What we know matters, but who we are matters more”

Robyn Young - Personal Leadership Branding for Executives

I’ve always been fascinated with human behaviour. From an early age I could read the energy in a room and used to love watching people interact with one another. Although I didn’t really understand what I was observing, I could somehow feel the true intentions behind the actions. I still can.

Later I learned I’m a Myers-Briggs INFJ personality type, which means I genuinely care about other people’s wellbeing, and one of my core drivers is to help them reach their full potential. I’m also really good at seeing detail in the big picture. I notice useful patterns and opportunities, especially when I’m given the space to contemplate and reflect. So don’t crowd me 😉

The way I describe what I do is like this [leans forward]: I’m here to help you live your life by design, not by default; to manage the “moments that matter” and come out the other side stronger, braver, softer, wilder.

I’m in your corner every step of the way.

In the industry we call it ‘building’, but to my mind, it’s more like ‘excavating’ to find the treasure buried inside.

Although what I do is similar to a coach or consultant, I’m not one.

  • I don’t give life advice and won’t tell you how to run your business.
  • I ask powerful questions about who you are and where you’re going.
  • I’ll provide a safe and supportive space for you to think out loud.
  • I will challenge you.
  • I won’t judge.
  • I’ll require you to think deeply about your impact in the world and where you’re called to make a difference.

And I’ll provide an extra mind and a pair of hands to help you get it done.

To be more specific

I work alone, in person, or online. I have a network of contacts who can cover just about anything I don’t do. I can provide referrals to graphic designers or web developers. If the timing is right, we can work on a strategy to improve your chances of getting a board role. I can be in these meetings with you, but I don’t have to. It’s really up to you and it may change as the work unfolds.

I listen.

I facilitate introductions, mediate third-party interventions, do my best to anticipate what’s needed, and help you to plan for it or make it happen.

I also know that support needs to be practical and holistic – whether it’s helping you update your LinkedIn profile, evaluating and critiquing your speech, or making you aware of annoying gestures and over-used filler words.

I can suggest how to make a better first impression, or how to look more influential in your profile photo.

I can ghost-write a blog post and respond to comments when it’s done.

I don’t do dry cleaning, groceries, or doctor’s appointments.
